The store's event raised $4,000 to donate to the One Fund.

Yale Appliance & Lighting hosted a fundraiser at Kings Bowling in Dedham, MA, on June 17th to benefit the Boston marathon bombing victims and their families. Participants raised $4,000 to donate to the One Fund.

About 60 people attended, including Yale employees, family, friends and some vendors. They bowled, had food and drinks, and participated in a silent auction and raffle, which raised $1,000 alone. The crowd also sported the matching t-shirts Yale had made for the event.

“Although I didn’t know anyone personally hurt in the bombings, I did know a lot of people who knew someone that was,” says one of the event organizers, Yale’s Beth Ferguson. “ I just felt so sad, hurt and angry by it all, and it scared the city of Boston. I wanted to do something.”
