#SOTYAwards are Open

Even though we are undergoing a big change over here at Residential Lighting, one thing will remain: our popular Showroom of the Year Awards, this year in its eighth edition, will still take place at the June Lightovation show honoring the best and brightest independent lighting retailers.

With that, we’re happy to announce that the 2017 Showroom of the Year Awards are now open for entries and nominations.

Any brick-and-mortar lighting showroom is eligible to win — all you have to do is visit www.sotyawards.com to enter your own store or nominate an outstanding one before our Feb. 27, 2017, deadline.

Three dollar-volume categories are up for grabs, as well as three specialty awards for merchandising display, community involvement and social media engagement. Each year, the entries and nominations get better and better, and it’s harder and harder for the judges to decide who deserves the title.

Thanks to everyone who has submitted material already in this early stage. If it’s on your list, take a second to watch this year’s Call for Entries video, to relive the excitement from past ceremonies and to get your entry-writing gears turning. We look forward to reading about your stores and honoring them come June.

Good luck!
