The deal will add to Shades of Light's metalworking and finishing capabilities.

Shades of Light has acquired Colonial Metalcrafts, a Richmond, VA-based manufacturer and retailer of handcrafted custom lighting fixtures.

Colonial Metalcrafts, founded nearly 50 years ago, has a long history of manufacturing. Led by current President and owner Jason Fredrick, the company has been owned and operated by the Fredrick family since 1993. Colonial's team of artisans design and manufacture new products for the residential and commercial markets, including numerous restaurants, historic properties, luxury homes as well as for a number of feature films. Fredrick will continue to lead the manufacturing operations of Colonial Metalcrafts and all of its employees have been retained by Shades of Light.

The deal will add to Shades of Light's line of exclusive lighting products and Colonial Metalcrafts' expertise in metalworking and metal finishing will further enhance Shades of Light's existing production capabilities. In addition, the move will strengthen Shades of Light's position in the regional interior designer market with the addition of Colonial Metalcrafts' existing customer base.
