Residential Lighting Wins 2013 TABBIE Awards

The magazine was honored with Silver in the Best Use of Social Media category and an Honorable Mention for its December 2012 cover.

Trade Association Business Publications International (TABPI) announced the winners of its 2013 TABBIE Awards, recognizing editorial and design excellence, on July 1, 2013.  

Residential Lighting captured the Silver TABBIE in the Best Use of Social Media category. Declared “strong on every social media platform” by the judges, Residential Lighting’s social media postings can be found on a regular basis on Facebook, Pinterest and Google+ pages; Twitter; a YouTube channel; and a Linked In group.

Residential Lighting’s December 2012 issue received a 2013 TABBIE Honorable Mention in the Front Cover (Photograph) category. 

Sister publication Home Fashion Forecast also was recognized with an Honorable Mention in the Best Use of Social Media category. The publication’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter, were established in 2012 in conjunction with the launch of its new responsively designed website,

“The entire team of editors and designers for Residential Lighting and Home Fashion Forecast are dedicated to bringing up-to-date news and emerging trends to our audience on an immediate basis, in an appealing fashion,” says Publisher/Editorial Director Laura Van Zeyl. “For these efforts to be recognized with a TABBIE Award is most gratifying.”

The 2013 10th Annual TABBIE Awards nominations had nearly 500 entries from around the globe, including publications from Australia, Lebanon, Singapore, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada and the United States.
