Personnel Updates at Currey & Co., IALD and More

Brownlee Currey (pictured) has been named President of Currey & Co., succeeding Barry Wabler, the sixth President in the company’s 22-year history. The son of company founders Robert and Suzanne Currey, Currey began his career at Crate & Barrel before returning to Atlanta and Currey & Co, where he worked in every department, including most recently as the head of the Contract and International Sales Department.

The International Assn. of Lighting Designers has announced its 2011 Board of Directors and Membership Committee. Kevin Theobald of Kevin Theobald Lighting Design (London) is the president-elect, and Kenneth A. Douglas of Illumination Arts (Bloomfield, NJ) has been elected Treasurer. David Ghatan of CM Kling and Assoc. (Alexandria, VA), Barbara Horton of Horton Lees Brogden Lighting Design (New York City) and Andreas Schulz of Licht Kunst Licht (Bonn, Germany) have also been elected to the Board of Directors. There are also two new additions to the IALD Membership Committee: Paul Beale of Electrolight Pty. Ltd. (Melbourne, Australia) and Mary Ann Hay of Syska and Hennessy (New York City).

Weiss and Biheller has hired Robert J. LeFleur to the newly created position of Business Development/National Sales Specialist. LeFleur previously worked at Schonbek Worldwide Lighting for the past 10 years.

Drew Costanza has been hired as the new Inside Salesperson for National Accounts at Hera Lighting. Costanza has a sales background, including his most recent position at Enterprise Car Sales.

Midwest-CBK has chosen Kelly Corcoran to fill the new position of Design Trend Manager. Corcoran brings more than 16 years of experience, including Creative Manager for Target Corp., Packaging Design Manager for Albertsons/SuperValu and Account Manager for LAGA, a leading branding agency where she worked to develop national brands including Hanes, Hillshire Farm, International Paper and Shell Oil.
