Meyda Acquires 2nd Ave.
March 8, 2012 - 3:45pm

Mesa, AZ-based 2nd Ave. Lighting is under new management. The manufacturer of indoor, outdoor and custom designs (including these fixtures) has been acquired by Meyda Lighting and will now operate in that company’s manufacturing and distribution facilities in Yorkville, NY.

“2nd Ave. Lighting is open for business,” says Robert Cohen, President of Meyda Lighting. “This company is a natural fit for us and we have made an easy transition. With more than 35 years of designing and manufacturing expertise, we are re-launching the brand leadership, original designs and custom capabilities of 2nd Ave.”

Since 1979, 2nd Ave. Lighting has manufactured a full range of lighting products in the United States with state-of-the-art custom capabilities.

Its portfolio of projects includes standard and custom lighting for upscale residences and hospitality environments, such as the custom-lighting design shown here in a restaurant.

“The 2nd Ave. sales force is in place, unchanged and entrenched within the lighting specification, distributor and hospitality communities,” says Cohen. “Key employees, including top designers and engineers, have been retained, as well as all 20,000-plus designs.”

Meyda Lighting is a privately held company, and terms of the acquisition are not available.

Although the company has relocated, phone, fax, e-mail and Web site remain the same. Visit for complete contact information.
