More than 200 members, suppliers and reps attended Lighting One’s 2011 annual meeting during the recent January Dallas Market, where guests celebrated the lighting co-op's 10-year anniversary and toured partner manufacturers’ showrooms.
Senior Vice President Gregg Garofalo gave a talk on engagement, as well as a look back at the past 10 years of Lighting One. He also gave a toast to industry greats who passed way in the previous year, including a tribute to Dorothy Feiss. Members went on to attend a general session meeting, as well as receptions at several vendor showrooms, including Kichler Lighting, Quoizel, Elegant Lighting, Uttermost and Elk Lighting.
Lighting One also presented its annual awards during the meeting. For 2010, Jim Plutter from Denali Lighting One received the award for Highest Percentage Increase, and the Humanitarian Awards went to member Jack Fleischer of Hermitage Lighting and supplier Artcraft Lighting, which was also named Supplier of the Year. Bob Stolzberg of Stolzberg Assoc. in Lighting was named Independent Representative of the Year, and the Brightest Star/Member of the Year award went to Phil, Jocelyn and Craig Bronson from House of Lights & Home Accents.
Since it was the organization’s 10th anniversary, Lighting One also gave out awards for supplier, rep and member of the decade. Alan Karen (pictured, right, with Garofalo) of Satco Products was named Corporate Representative of the Decade, and Kichler Lighting was given the Shining Light award for Supplier of the Decade. The evening culminated with Bill Branham of Brecher’s Lighting One in Kentucky being honored as Member of the Decade.
