John Wratten Dies at 62

Industry veteran John Wratten died in early May from post-surgical complications at the age of 62.

Wratten’s career spanned across the electrical distribution business in Alaska to a lighting showroom in Seattle to Homestead Lighting and Fans to American Lantern to big box retailer Home Depot, and most recently, as Executive Vice President of Sales for Home Systems Group, a manufacturer in China. Wratten was known for developing Asian contacts long before anybody eyed the East as a viable business hotspot.

Loved ones describe Wratten as hardworking, intelligent and fun-loving, with a heart of gold. He loved bowling, racing classic cars and mentoring friends in the business.

He is survived by his wife Janey; two children, Donna and Jonathan; and a grandchild Tyler.

The family has set up a memorial fund in his name to help with medical bills and insurance complications. All donations to the John Wratten Memorial Fund will go directly to his family. Donations are not tax deductible. To donate, send a check to:
