Dallas Lighting Market to Offer Multitude of Educational Resources

At the June 2013 Market, attendees can sit in on several digital marketing sessions at the Tech-Know Spot and other educational seminars presented by the American Lighting Association.

Dallas Market Center announced that the Dallas International Lighting Market held June 20-23, 2013 will offer a multitude of educational resources and exciting special events.

Buyers are invited to gain insight from digital marketing experts at Tech-Know Spot℠ on the Trade Mart 3rd floor. Buyers will learn how technology impacts business and how to effectively evolve with its ever-changing landscape. The sessions include:

 Thursday, June 20
o “Four Reasons it Pays to Have a Company Blog” at 10 a.m. presented by Meredith Hite, Vice President of Corporate Communications, Dallas Market Center
o “QR Codes — Think INSIDE the Box to Create OUTSIDE the Norm Results” at 11 a.m. presented by Jason Petersen, CEO & founder, XOLights
o “Google’s Changing Landscape” at 1 p.m. presented by Joel Hughes, Senior Vice President of Technology & eMedia, Scranton Gillette Communications
o “Top 5 Apps Every Retailer Needs” at 2 p.m. presented by Shama Kabani, CEO, The Marketing Zen Group
o “Domain Do’s and Don’ts” at 3 p.m. presented by Shama Kabani

The American Lighting Association will present several educational seminars during Market for a fee of $44 for members and $69 for non-members in the World Trade Center 3-345. To register, visit the ALA website. Sessions include:

· “LED Replacement Technology: Opportunities and Concerns” presented by Fred Oberkircher on Friday, June 21 from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
· “How to Define and Demonstrate the 5 Characteristics of Light” presented by Fred Oberkircher on Friday, June 21 from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
· “LED Dimming for Dummies” presented by Nick Senofsky on Saturday, June 22 from 8 to 9:30 a.m.
· “How to Produce a Lighting Design Plan” presented by Al Thomas, CLC on Saturday, June 22 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The 4th annual Showroom of the Year Awards reception will be held on Thursday, June 20 at 6 p.m. in Loft 4 of the Trade Mart and will honor outstanding retailers in the lighting industry, sponsored by Dallas Market Center and Residential Lighting.

Buyers and exhibitors are also invited to attend the Lighting After Dark party at the Sheraton Downtown Hotel at 9 p.m. to enjoy cocktails and networking with fellow industry associates.
