ALA Grows CLMR Accreditation Program
March 12, 2012 - 9:06am

Since its inception one year ago, the Certified Lighting Manufacturers Representative (CLMR) program, administered by the American Lighting Assn., has grown to include a total of seven sales representatives.

“The manufacturers reps are such a small group; there are only about 300 or so total. So, we don’t expect huge numbers, and it is definitely a slow process,” says the ALA’s Director of Education Nicole Juneau. But the program is growing, and there are a lot of people currently working toward getting certified.”

Through the program’s comprehensive sales, management and industry training, the following ALA members earned accreditation during the inaugural year:

Lars Bostrom, CLMR, Bostrom Lighting Sales
Elise P. Gilchrist, CLC, CLMR, Lytestyles
Beverlee Griffin, CLC, CLMR, Deitch-Griffin & Assoc.
Stan Johnston, CLC, CLMR, Johnston Lighting Assoc.
Margaret Langdon, CLMR, Langdon Sales Inc.
Todd Teiber, CLMR, Teiber & Co. Inc.
Tom Underwood, CLMR, Fanimation

For more information on becoming a CLMR, contact Nicole Juneau at [email protected] or (800) 605-4448, or go to the ALA Web site at for an application.
