Swarovski Elements will be the first-ever corporate sponsor for the ARTS Awards, which will take place during the Dallas Intl. Lighting Market on Jan. 21. The awards, which honor the best in lighting, furniture and home accessories, are sponsored by the Accessories Resource Team (ART) and the Dallas Market Center.
ART Executive Director Sharon Davis says this is new territory for the ARTS Awards.
“The ARTS Awards have never had any kind of corporate sponsorship before,” Davis says. “Swarovski Elements approached us, and they had attended the awards in the past and thought that since they do other awards programs in other industries, including the Academy Awards, that they might be able to contribute to ours as well.”
Richard Crandall, Key Account Manager at Swarovski Elements, says his company recognized the ARTS Awards as a unique opportunity.
“We approached the ARTS Awards team because Swarovski has launched a new initiative in the interiors segment, and we thought this would be a great opportunity to add some sparkle to the event with our brilliant crystals,” Crandall says. “We’ve always recognized that the ART does a great job honoring the design community, and now we share in honoring of those special people that make it all happen.”
The main focus will be the stage’s crystal curtain backdrop, which measures 48 feet wide and 14 feet tall, with more than 280 individual crystal strands. Swarovski Elements is also contributing two custom-made crystal embellished podiums for speakers to use on-stage, as well as crystal-adorned napkin rings for all of the dining tables. Swarovski Elements will also help decorate the cocktail space with cream-colored panels embossed with the ARTS Awards logo in copper crystals.
Celebrity presenters will also lend some shine to this year’s ARTS Awards. This year’s presenters include Donna Moss, interior designer and star of HGTV’s “Donna Decorates Dallas,” and Dann Foley, lifestyle expert and principal of Dann Inc. Other presenters will include Davis, Guildmaster President and CEO Steve Crowder, and Dallas Market Center’s President and CEO Bill Winsor and COO Cindy Morris.
The ARTS Awards gala has a new setting this year – the Hilton Anatole, located adjacent to the Dallas Market Center. The awards will take place on Jan. 21 at 6:30 p.m., and tickets are available for $150 per person ($125 for ART members) or $1,500 for a table of 10 ($1,125 for ART members) on the ART website.
The annual ARTS Awards Pre-Party and Exhibit, which pays tribute to this year’s finalists, also has a new location – World Trade Center 544. The Pre-Party will take place on Jan. 20 at 6 p.m., but the exhibit will be open during the entire market, which runs Jan. 19-23.
