Its strength in lighting controls is exerted the moment you walk into the store. The new 26,000-square-foot showroom is the only one in town that is illuminated using a combination of an Optiwatt system — which lights the showroom with Lutron’s Grafik Eye — along with Radio RA and soft-switch technology.
The larger space has allowed the company to also expand its merchandise selection and its portfolio of services. Showcasing more products and having them on hand in inventory has allowed the store to meet customers’ needs more efficiently.
Being able to see product clearly is a basic but key tactic when creating displays. Unique fixtures are a signature touch that adds personality to the store. An example: A large crystal chandelier in the front window is mounted on a rotating, motorized spinner. Its sparkling motion has brought people in off the street for a closer look. Merchandise displays are cleaned regularly and constantly changed to keep the store fresh.
Design Lighting’s advertising and marketing aim to reflect the store’s stylish flair and professionalism. Graphics show the public what the store is all about: quality lighting and great service. Environmental photographs of lighting in well lit settings convey an image of a lighting showroom that is elegant, practical and helpful. This past year, the retailer was voted by its community for the Best of the Best Award in the lighting category. It was the third consecutive year the company has received the honor.
