Richard Cash, President and owner of Besa Lighting just outside Columbus, OH, died of a heart attack on Dec. 14. He was 49.
Mike Wypasek, Besa’s Graphics and Marketing Communications Coordinator, says Besa was a small company when Cash got involved with it back in the 1980s, but experienced a great deal of growth under Cash’s leadership.
“He was definitely hands-on, and liked to get his hands dirty,” Wypasek says. “He was very comfortable doing whatever he needed to do, and had a lot of drive to do things well.”
Wypasek also describes Cash as “fiercely loyal” to family and friends, including those he worked with in the industry for more than 20 years. Outside of work, Cash enjoyed being outdoors, and was an avid camper and hiker. He also loved animals, especially his dogs.
Cash is survived by his wife, Amy; son, Jordan; and daughter, Taylor. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Cash’s memory to a charity for animals or another worthy cause of your choice.
