Robinson Lighting & Bath Centre
Open since 1999, Robinson Lighting is proud of its family name and its family history in the lighting industry. Four generations of Robinsons have worked in the business. Next year, the store will celebrate its 75th anniversary and, to mark the occasion, management is doing all that it can to ensure customers are getting the best possible service.
The store measures just under 14,000 square feet. Recently, 3,300 square feet were added to expand the builder sales area and to create room for executive offices and additional warehouse space. An employee training room in the new area is ideal for product knowledge meetings, ALA webinars and other educational sessions presented by the company’s corporate office staff.
Inside the Robinson showroom, every inch is used wisely to show lighting to its best advantage. Vignettes are arranged by fixture families. The fixtures are individually controlled, so each can be displayed at the proper wattage.
Customers know the showroom from its sponsorship of an early drive-time radio show; visitors constantly report that they heard the company’s ad that morning. When Canadian designers Steven Sabados and Chris Hyndman of “Steven and Chris” visited the location for Steven and Chris Night, they drew large crowds of designers, architects and engineers who wanted to see their lighting line for a Canadian manufacturer. According to the showroom’s entry statement, this was the year’s most successful promotional event.
