Nora Lighting ’s recent holiday donation to PATH will help homeless individuals and families, including veterans, find permanent housing solutions in communities throughout southern California.
“PATH has one of the most successful approaches to combating homelessness that is offered in southern California,” said Jilla Farzan, Executive Vice President at Nora Lighting.
Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Los Angeles, PATH has evolved into a multi-site organization that reaches out to men, women and children living on the street. The organization offers a unique range of services to help people successfully make the transition to living in homes of their own.
At the center of PATH activities is the PATH Mall, a facility that features more than a dozen service providers at one site, including housing assistance, health services, employment counseling, legal assistance, personal care, and treatment for mental health and substance abuse.
“We met a number of individuals who have turned their lives around because of the programs offered by PATH,” Farzan said.
“One individual who touched us especially was Vickie, a woman who was living on the streets 12 years ago. Through PATH she was able to find housing, complete a cosmetology program and get a job. Vickie now runs the Personal Care facility at PATH where she helps hundreds of men and women.”
Under the direction of Vice President Farzan, Nora Lighting is actively involved in assisting local community organizations that work to improve the lives of people with unfortunate circumstances.
