Michael Aram Inc.  has named Samuel Shaffer as Chief Executive Officer of the luxury home décor brand. Shaffer brings a high level of varied marketing and leadership experience to the company, as well as a deep passion for quality-driven design.

Shaffer comes to Michael Aram with a unique background in both large-scale marketing and boutique, designer-owned brands. After 20 years in consumer marketing, shaped at companies such as Bain, Coach and Black &Decker, Shaffer joined Knoll Inc. as a Marketing Director. Following the successful IPO of Knoll, Shaffer dedicated his talents to propelling smaller, design-driven brands, focusing on companies that inspired him aesthetically.

Prior to joining Michael Aram Inc., Shaffer was Vice President, Sales & Marketing of the Bright Group and Senior Vice President at Edward Ferrel and Lewis Mittman, manufacturers and distributors of luxury designer furniture. Shaffer also served as the Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Liora Manne Inc., the premium rug and fabric manufacturer. At each of these companies, Shaffer streamlined processes and encouraged innovation, leading to a continued increase in sales.
Shaffer earned his bachelor's degree in architecture from Yale and his MBA from Harvard University. Shaffer has replaced Sebastian Herald, who has stepped down to pursue other opportunities.
