Winners of the American Society of Interior Designers  (ASID) NY Metro Chapter “Best of the Best” Awards and Accent on Design® Awards at NY NOW®, the Market for Home & Lifestyle (formerly NYIGF® ), which ran through Aug. 21 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, were announced.
Seven exhibitors from the NY Now Home Collection were designated “Best of the Best” by ASID. The Lighting category winner was McCoy Design , Tamaqua, PA.
“ASID is pleased to be a partner with NY NOW to recognize exceptional home products,” says Jacqueline Hosford, President of the ASID NY Metro chapter. “The consolidation of the market’s home resources into one easy-to-source location on the Javits Center’s Level 3 will be well-received by ASID members.
Judges for the summer 2013 ASID “Best of the Best” awards were: Tai Ishikawa Pleasanton, Stone Source, Industry Partner ASID; Kevin Peterson, ASID, NCIDQ, Kevin Peterson Design; Kim Price, Allied ASID, KAVANTE Inc.; Vincent Taylor, ASID, NCIDQ, CID, CAPS, Eco Nest Interior Design Studio; and Debbie Viola, Industry Partner ASID, Custom Finishes & Murals by Debbie Viola. The co-chairs were Marcia D. Bell, Industry Partner ASID, Marcia Bell Consulting; and Dana E. Messina, Industry Partner ASID, Marcia Bell Consulting.
Accent on Design Awards
Accent on Design Awards were presented in the categories of Excellence in Product Design, Best New Collection and Excellence in Booth Design. The winners are all exhibitors in Accent on Design, a juried collection of contemporary designers showcased at NY NOW
Circa for Pablo , a revolutionary flat-panel LED light source that redefines ambient lighting by combining seamless movement with warm and balanced illumination, won the Excellence in Product Design category.
“Accent on Design continues its longstanding tradition of introducing innovative and emerging product designers and designs to the home and lifestyle market,” says Jaime Sikorjak, Accent on Design sales manager. “This summer, the resources were especially impressive, with an incredible amount of innovative, new products. The selection committee was especially impressed with the caliber of design among its newcomers this market.”
