Pantone has announced its 2013 color of the year: Emerald 17-5641. Described as a “lively, radiant, lush green,” jewel-toned emerald promotes balance and harmony.
Emerald is a great color for home accessories, and color specialist Leatrice Eiseman of colorexpert.com [1] says lighting is where it can really make an impact.
“The color lends itself so well to glass, acrylics, resins and ceramic finishes. There is a light reflective quality and the name 'Emerald' conjures up a multi-faceted finish and perspective. The historical significance is also clear as some of the turn-of-the-20th-century best-known pieces by Tiffany and Fabergé and other Art Deco artists/manufacturers utilized Emerald beautifully.”
