On Sept. 20, Lightology [1] celebrated its 10th anniversary with an LED seminar followed by a party equipped with food, drinks and stilt walkers.
Located in downtown Chicago, Lightology is a 4-story, 20,000-square-foot showroom founded by industry veteran Greg Kay. Kay opened Lightology in 2002 after he sold Tech Lighting [2], which he founded in 1983.
The annivesary night kicked off with an LED seminar presented by sponsor Edge Lighting [3]'s Drew Goldman. To a crowd of dozens, Goldman presented on the technical side of LED as well as LED applications and lighting design.
At the party, carnival entertainment, including a stiltwalker, a contortionist and a juggler, was scattered around the showroom while guests took red carpet photos and perused the fixtures. The crowd migrated to the rooftop toward the end of the night, where a DJ played music and the view of the skyline was a perfect backdrop for celebration.
