Harry Kallick was inducted into the American Lighting Association (ALA) Lighting Hall of Fame during the 2012 ALA Conference in Scottsdale, AZ, Sept. 9-11.
Kallick is a lighting industry veteran. He founded Kalco [1] in Las Vegas in 1981 with his wife, Marci, served as chair of the 2001 ALA Annual Conference Committee and 1995 Membership Campaign Committee and was a major supporter of the launching of the ALA BiNational Advertising and PR program. Kallick is now Chairman of Varaluz [2] and Solar Sign Light.
In his acceptance speech during Conference's closing gala, Kallick thanked the ALA and his colleagues for bestowing such an honor upon him. He also gave a heartfelt tribute to his wife, who passed away last year.
“She kept us going,” Kallick said. “She worked as a waitress to pay our bills when we started out. Without her, I wouldn’t be here.”
