The Sustainable Furnishings Council [1] (SFC) has named Margaret Casey as its new President, the organization announced recently.
Casey helped found the SFC and has helped it grow over the past few years. She previously served as the Director of Programming at World Market Center Las Vegas [2] and is currently a consultant for the National Park Service Presidio Trust in San Francisco.
In a statement, Casey said she is delighted to take on the role of SFC President.
“These are exciting times and the needle is moving forward on an industry-wide integration of environmental responsibility,” Casey said. “SFC has been an advocate and an innovator in promoting sustainability to this sector and, in partnership with the Board of Directors and Executive Director Susan Inglis, we will continue to evolve and expand its membership, outreach and educational platform.”
Casey replaces outgoing President Jeff Hiller, Principal of PROaction Marketing Group. Hiller will remain on the SFC Board of Directors.
