International Market Centers  (IMC), which owns buildings at the High Point  and Las Vegas Markets , has appointed Pedro Zapata as the new Chief Operating Officer, the company announced recently.
This is just one of several hires by IMC in recent months as the company continues to assemble its leadership team. Other new appointments include Scott Eckman  as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer, Kim Rieck  as General Counsel, Dorothy Belshaw  as President of the Gift Division and the promotion of Paul Watson  to Vice President of Design.
As the new COO, Zapata brings nearly 20 years of experience managing large-scale real estate, focusing on improving customer experience and scaling operations during rapid growth.
“Pedro has a stellar background in the high-end hospitality industry guided by his early experiences at Ritz Carlton and the Four Seasons,” IMC CEO Robert Maricich said in statement. “He has broad-based experiences running a vast array of geographically diverse properties and is a proven and skilled operations and facilities management leader…Throughout his entire career, the consistency of Pedro’s efforts has always been with a focus on providing guests exceptional experience, and we are fortunate to have these strengths at IMC.”
In his new position, Zapata will be tasked with integrating people and processes across 18 properties in Las Vegas and High Point, NC, and will be based in Las Vegas. He will also oversee Michelle Monteferrante, Vice President of Operations of World Market Center Las Vegas and Mike Snider, Vice President of Operations in High Point.
