Generation Brands  has named Maria Scutaro (pictured) the new president of Murray Feiss . Effective Jan. 31, Scutaro will take the place of Greg Vandia, who has been with the company for 21 years.
Scutaro started at Murray Feiss in 1997 and spent many years in sales and marketing. She left for four years to be Vice President of Sales at Uttermost , but returned to Murray Feiss in 2009 as Vice President of Merchandising and was promoted last year to Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Generation Brands also promoted Scott Forst from his current position of Vice President of Sales for Monte Carlo Fan Co.  to Vice President of Sales for both Monte Carlo and Murray Feiss. Forst joined Monte Carlo in 2008 after spending seven years in sales in Hunter Fan  and Casablanca Fan Co .
Industry veteran Tracy Bilbrough, former president and CEO of Generation Brands , has been appointed the new president and CEO of Switch Lighting . Bilbrough also previously worked as the CEO of Juno Lighting , and held senior management positions at Thomas & Betts Corp.  and Black & Decker .
Frank Tillner has been named the new Chief Operating Officer of OSRAM Opto Semiconductors . Tillner takes over for former COO Elke Eckstein at the company’s Germany headquarters, and will now be responsible for for the chip and LED production plants in Regensburg, Germany, and Penang, Malaysia. Prior to this, Tillner was the Senior Vice President of Conergy AG .
Quoizel  has promoted Alan Katz to Vice President of Sales and Howard Greenberg to National Sales Manager. Katz started at Quoizel in 1994 as a sales rep and has since worked his way up to Director of Mass Merchants. He is also a Salesman of the Year winner. Greenberg joined Quoizel in 2005 as a sales rep covering central and southern New Jersey and is a past leader of the Sales Advisory Council. In addition, Quoizel President Rick Seidman has been appointed as the Secretary of the Board of Directors for the American Lighting Association  for 2012.
Meyda Lighting  has appointed Max Cohen to the position of New England Area Sales Manager. Cohen, son of Meyda CEO Robert Cohen, will also continue to serve as the company’s Upstate New York Area Sales Manager, as well as oversee Meyda’s factory showroom in Yorkville, NY.
AmericasMart Atlanta  has had several new appointments: Jack Ryan, who retired as AMC’s president in 2001, as acting Chief Financial Officer; JoAnn Miller-Marshall as Executive Vice President of AMC Tradeshows, bringing all AmericasMart home, gift and apparel and Lightfair Intl. sales under her direction; Michelle Barton as Senior Vice President and Controller; Robert D. Schuler as officer in charge for all housing services across all AmericasMart Atlanta markets and Lightfair Intl ; and Kevin Malkiewicz as Vice President of AmericasMart rug leasing and sales.
Horton Lees Brogden Lighting Design  recently hired nine new lighting designers: Vasudha Rathi, Stacie Brunet, Meghan Howell, Barrett Newell, Virna Abraham, Colin Conroy, Josephine Pan, Rachel Belle and Angelique Sonnier.
B-K Lighting  and TEKA Illumination  have promoted Jerry Yang to the position of Production Planner of both companies, and Nathan Sloan to the position of Manufacturing Manager for both companies. Yang started working for the companies in 2004 and has worked in a variety of roles including Machine Shop Coordinator and Warehouse Material Control. Sloan is also no stranger to the company, having worked there for over 18 years as a manufacturing engineer.
Toshiba Intl. Corp.  has assembled a team of lighting veterans to lead its LED Lighting Systems Division . Ken Honeycutt, former CEO of Acuity Brands , has assumed the role of Senior Vice President of Toshiba and Chief Venture Executive of Toshiba’s LED Lighting Systems Division. Rounding out the division’s senior management team are Mark Altomare, formerly of Hubbell Lighting , as Vice President of Business Development; Peter DallePezze, formerly of Holophane Corp. , as Vice President of Marketing and Product Development; Keisuke Ono, who has worked for Toshiba as a lighting engineer for more than 20 years, as Technology Executive Officer; and Jim McKenzie, formerly of Lighting Science Group , as acting Director of Operations.
Stephanie Pearce has been promoted to Inside Sales Representative for National Accounts after only five months at Hera Lighting . Hera has also hired Julie Rafalowsky as a customer service representative. Rafalowsky brings several years of customer service experience to her new position.
Crestron  has named Marc Evert and John Berry as its new Commercial Lighting Regional Sales Managers. Evert represents the New York City metro area and Berry covers the mid-Atlantic region. Both have more than 30 years of experience in lighting controls.
Park Madison Lighting by Samar has appointed several new sales representatives: TJ Schaefer & Associates has been appointed to cover Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Western Pennsylvania; N-P Sales has been appointed to cover north central Texas; Clamp-Davis-Glatthaar has been appointed to cover North and South Carolina; R. D. Wright Sales has been appointed to cover upstate New York; and Crews Sales Agency has been appointed to cover Alabama and Georgia.
EnOcean GmbH  has appointed Laurent Giai-Miniet as its new CEO. Giai-Miniet, who spent 20 years in management as Texas Instruments, will replace Markus Brehler, who has left the company.
Amerillum Brands  has made several new appointments. The company’s Alumen8  division has hired three new sales representative agencies, including Architectural Lighting Sales, which will cover the state of Oklahoma; Lighting Systems, which will cover San Francisco and Sacramento, CA; and Malcar Northwest, which will cover Oregon and southwestern Washington state. Amerillum’s a•light  division also has a few new hires, including Senior Applications Engineer Justin Horvath, formerly of Horton Lees Brogden Lighting Design, and Applications Engineer Ben Taziri, a recent graduate of the Illumination Engineering program at the University of Colorado at Boulder. The a•light division also hired three new sales agencies: Klopfenstein, which will cover Hawaii; Lumenation, which will cover most of Kentucky and southern Indiana; and Engineered Representations Inc., which will cover central and eastern Wisconsin and the western upper peninsula of Michigan.
