With a near double-digit percent gain in attendance and the strongest opening day in the last 40 markets, last month’s Dallas Total Home & Gift Market started the year on an optimistic note.
“Attendance was up, buyers were writing orders, exhibitors were thrilled, and we were encouraged to have such a strong market,” Bill Winsor, President and CEO of the Dallas Market Center, said in a statement.
Attendance for the Dallas Intl. Lighting Market was also up over last January, according to Vice President of Corporate Services Steve Dumas, including significant increases from the Midwest and internationally.
Dumas also added that the number of hotel room nights booked was higher than the buyer increase, leading him to believe that people also stayed longer at the market.
In addition, three lighting exhibitors were honored in the Dallas Market Center’s Best of Show Awards – Stylecraft Home Collection (pictured) won for the tenth floor of the World Trade Center, Maxim Group won for the third floor of the Trade Mart and American Fluorescent won for the fourth floor of the Trade Mart.
The next Dallas Intl. Lighting Market will take place June 23-26, 2011.
