Byron Gulledge (pictured) celebrated his retirement earlier this year after 51 years in the lighting industry. Gulledge spent 15 years as owner of a lighting showroom in Baton Rouge, LA, four years as a sub-representative for J. L. Schwartz in Houston and 32 years as an independent lighting representative. Some of the lines he and his wife, Judia, represented included Murray Feiss, ELK Lighting, House of Troy, Meyda and Ellington Fans. Gulledge plans to spend his retirement fishing and traveling the United States and Europe.
Halco Lighting Technologies has hired Sarah Kulesza as a Marketing Associate. Kulesza will report to Marketing Manager Deby Forster, contributing to the company’s business-to-business marketing operations. Kulesza recently graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications and a concentration in Public Relations.
Mike Gay has been named Senior Vice President of Marketing at AmericasMart Atlanta. Gay takes the place of Mike Turnbull, who has been named Senior Vice President of Strategic Relations for AMC Inc. and its AmericasMart and Lightfair Intl. entities. A marketing veteran with more than 20 years of experience, Gay joins AmericasMart following a 13-year tenure at Philips Consumer Lifestyle in Atlanta, where he served as Vice President of Marketing and General Manager of e-Commerce and Value Added Services. In his new position, Gay will help to strengthen the AmericasMart brand and its 19 annual markets, which attract retailers from more than 80 countries.
Lighting Science Group Corp. has hired John Bono to serve as its Vice President for Strategic Accounts. Bono will play an integral role in the management of existing strategic accounts and the pursuit of new strategic accounts. Prior to joining the company, Bono worked for eight years at Acuity Brands Lighting where he was most recently the Vice President of Utility Sales.
Members of the Hamilton Wrenn Design District in High Point have elected Lisa Shankle as President of the association. Shankle is the General Manager of Showplace Properties and has served as Vice President of the association for the past two years. Shankle will replace outgoing President Bill Cain, President of Chelsea House.
