Pantone has announced its 2013 color of the year: Emerald 17-5641. Described as a “lively, radiant, lush green,” jewel-toned emerald promotes balance and harmony.
Emerald is a great color for home accessories, and color specialist Leatrice Eiseman of colorexpert.com says lighting is where it can really make an impact.
“The color lends itself so well to glass, acrylics, resins and ceramic finishes. There is a light reflective quality and the name 'Emerald' conjures up a multi-faceted finish and perspective. The historical significance is also clear as some of the turn-of-the-20th-century best-known pieces by Tiffany and Fabergé and other Art Deco artists/manufacturers utilized Emerald beautifully.”
