New Licenses for Shady Lady

As if a brand new showroom were not enough, Shady Lady will also be debuting two new licenses with Jane Seymour Designs and Michael Payne Home Collection (lamp shown) at the upcoming High Point Market. The new space is located in IHFC W254.

"Our new showroom is larger and more centrally located, which we are very excited about," says Susie Morter, Shady Lady President. "We are focusing on manufacturing more and more of our lighting products in our own factory in Grafton, WI, and are looking forward to displaying these items at High Point. Additions to the Woolrich Collection will also be shown."

The company is collaborating with Jane Seymour to launch a co-branded line of decorative lighting that includes table and floor lamps, wall sconces and chandeliers — all derived from the designer's ocean and garden serenity themes. "This partnership with Shady Lady is very exciting for me," says Seymour. "Designing my own home to reflect warmth and creativity has been a great joy and I feel privileged to be joining Shady Lady Lighting in making my designs available to others."

The agreement with Michael Payne — designer, author and the original host and designer of HGTV's "Designing for the Sexes" — centers around a co-branded, American-made line of indoor lighting. The first set of lamps to debut from the new Framex Collection are greatly inspired by designs Payne has created for his other licensed furniture and accessory lines and will employ combinations of clean, contemporary shapes and iron.

The Framex Collection will be available in a floor lamp, pendant and sconce configuration and is constructed with a powdercoated iron base in an Antique Bronze finish and a fabric drum shade. These lamps will be offered with multiple finish and shade fabric options, with both components made domestically. "The lamps in my collection feature unique new designs not only for the lamps, but also for their coordinating shades," Payne says.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new showroom is scheduled to take place at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18. Market visitors are invited to attend and stay for the refreshments immediately following.
