Upon hearing his customer's name called as the winner of the American Lighting Assn.'s second annual $10,000 Home Lighting Makeover Sweepstakes, Connecticut Lighting's Dave Director let out a cheer that almost drowned out the jazz standard echoing from the ground floor of the Dallas Trade Mart atrium.
Staged at the ALA's third-floor information kiosk during the January Dallas Market, the drawing kicked off the next stage of the organization's successful consumer outreach effort.
Director's company will supply $10,000 worth of lighting products and design services to the winner, courtesy of the ALA's BiNational Advertising and PR Program.
"We're really excited about this," Director says. "Besides being great for our customer, how we'll be able to use this from a public relations standpoint is really exciting, too."
Representatives from Connecticut Lighting will begin the makeover process by doing a walk-through with the winner to evaluate her lighting needs.
In addition to the grand prize, Besco Electric Supply in Leesburg, FL, will outfit the second-place winner with a $5,000 gift certificate, and Wolberg Electrical Supply Co. in Albany, NY, will award its third-prize-winning customer with a $2,500 gift certificate.
