Lighting a Bathroom With Two Sinks
Our expert explains where to place pendants in a bathroom with a double sink.
I am using pendant fixtures in a bathroom with two sinks. Tell me the suitable height from the floor and distance out from the mirror.
Because your sinks are so far apart, what I recommend is that you hang two pairs of pendants. Take a center line measurement off each sink and space the pendants out 15 inches on either side from that center line. This will space the pendants 30 inches apart from each other. The pendants themselves can be spaced out 9 inches on center from the mirror. You want the illuminated part of the fixture to be the same height as your face. A good starting point is 5 feet 6 inches above the finished floor. Your electrician can hold one up while you're standing at the mirror to gauge the perfect mounting height.
