The former pharmacist and businessman who became co-owner of Capitol Lighting stores throughout Palm Beach County in Florida, was pronounced dead at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. The cause is suspected to be a pulmonary embolism.
A memorial service was held on March 25 at the Star of David Cemetery and Funeral Chapel in West Palm Beach, FL. Ken Lebersfeld, Vice President of Capitol Lighting, gave a touching eulogy, sharing fond memories of Jaffe.
“With Ron, family didn’t stop at the end of the bloodline. He had his business family, too — not just the people he worked with every day; there were distant relatives, from other companies,” said Lebersfeld in the eulogy.”
He added, “Ron was no wallflower. You always knew when he was in the room. He had a quick wit and could always make you laugh, and he never took himself too seriously.”
Jaffe was married 55 years and is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his children, Dr. Eric Jaffe and Stacy Jaffe, and grandchildren Ryan and Dani.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Assn. in his memory.
