International Market Centers (IMC), which owns properties at both the High Point and Las Vegas Markets, has hired Scott Eckman to fill the new position of Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer.

“We are very excited to have someone of Scott’s professionalism, leadership and critical thinking capabilities heading the strategy and marketing efforts for the newly formed organization of IMC,” IMC CEO Robert Maricich said in a statement. “He brings significant experience and proven success in leading corporate development activities, managing the analysis process for acquisitions, and designing and executing marketing initiatives.”

Before joining IMC, Eckman was the Chief Marketing Officer at GMAC Insurance Holdings, where he was responsible for the sales and marketing of the company’s Affinity Business. Prior to GMAC, Eckman worked in management at Georgia-Pacific’s North American Commercial Wiper Business and Boston Consulting Group.

In his new position, Eckman will be responsible for all strategic, corporate development and marketing activities at IMC and will be based in High Point, NC. He will report to Maricich and supervise Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations Dana Andrew in Las Vegas, Vice President of Marketing Karen Olson in High Point and their respective teams. Eckman will also support the leasing efforts of President of Furniture Tom Mitchell and newly appointed President of Gift Dorothy Belshaw.
