How to Illuminate a Home Gym
Our expert recommends lighting that flatters your form while you're working on your physique.

We want lighting for our home gym. What kind of lighting should be put in so that I look good and cut at the same time?

I would have you consider hanging a series of linear pendant fixtures that have both indirect and direct lighting. The indirect lighting will fill the room with a soft, even illumination, eliminating shadows on your face, while the downlighting will add some muscular definition. Examples of fixtures to take a look at are Finelite's HP-4 and Ivalo's Aliante to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. Oiling yourself up will also enhance muscle tone, but it will make it difficult for you to turn the handle on the door when you want to leave.
