House of Lamps and Shades Founder Jerry Robertson Dies
Robertson, 81, attended Dallas and High Point Markets twice a year and had a great love for the industry.
 

House of Lamps and Shades, Jacksonville, FL, founder Gerald “Jerry” Saunders Robertson, 81, passed away peacefully from complications of a stroke on Tues., March 19.

In 1969, Robertson opened the House of Lamps and Shades lighting business where he created his own lamps and provided lighting to the Jacksonville community. His business continues to this day with his son, Sam, running the operations.

Robertson’s life revolved around his family and friends, and as a born storyteller, he loved nothing more than gatherings where he could enjoy the company of those close to him. He also loved the industry his son Sam says, and attended both Dallas and High Point Markets twice a year.

Robertson is survived by his loving wife, Carroll Diane; children, Laura Robertson Tobias, Cherie Connor Palma, Allison Connor Cooper, Sam Robertson and Johnnie Purvis; grandchildren Blake Christopher, Connor Jordan and Mackenzie Maria Palma, Lindsey and Mary Nicholai Cooper, Olivia Lyn Robertson, Alexa Grace Tobias, Jonas Derry and Kaleb Douglas Stowell, and Taylor, Dylan and Maverick Purvis.
