On Sept. 16, Gross Electric, Toledo, OH, hosted a golf outing to benefit the Alzheimer's Association and the Sight Center of Northwest Ohio. More than 70 local electrical contractors and builders gathered at Sylvania Country Club to raise $4,000 for these two worthy charities.

"We have hosted golf outings for many years as a way of thanking our loyal customers," says Joe Gross, Vice President of Gross Electric. "But this year we wanted to start raising money for local charities as well."

The two charities were chosen because of the direct impact they have had on the Gross family. "Our family has first-hand experience in dealing with Alzheimer's and macular degeneration," says Laurie Gross, President of Gross Electric. "It was natural for us to want to reach out and help these two charities."

"As the elderly population increases, many other families will be affected by these same issues," Joe Gross adds. "The golf outing was not only a way to raise funds for these two charities, but to raise awareness."

Joe and Laurie say they intend to make this an annual fundraising event.
