Former Philips Lighting Chairman Joins Lighting Science Group Board
K.R. Den Daas served Philips Electronics in various leadership roles over the last three decades.
 

K.R. (Kaj) den Daas, former Chairman of Philips Lighting North America, has joined Lighting Science Group's Board of Directors, Lighting Science Group announced recently. 

"I am extremely proud and excited to join the board of this innovative company," den Daas said in a statement. "Working with Lighting Science Group’s world-class management team and other board members we will continue to change the way the world uses and experiences light."

Den Daas worked for Philips Electronics in a variety of roles over the last three decades. After joining the company in 1977, he went on to serve as CEO of Philips' Business Unit - Lamps for Europe from 1999 to 2003, as COO of BG Lamps and Executive Vice President of Philips Lighting B.V. from 2003 to 2006 and as Chairman of Philips Lighting North America and CEO of BU Professional Luminaires North America from 2006 to 2009. For the last two years, he has been the owner of Dasio Consulting, a firm based in the Netherlands that advises clients in the electrical industry.

"I believe that Kaj's wealth of industry knowledge and know-how will be vital as the Company continues to experience rapid growth and lead the global lighting technology sector," Jim Haworth, Lighting Science Group Chairman and CEO, said in a statement.

Den Daas has a doctorate in Business Economics from Erasmus University, Rotterdam, and is a member of the Illumination Engineering Society of North America.
