As iSaloni celebrated its 50th anniversary, Milan put its best foot forward to emphasize its design leadership. But the biannual Euroluce was where lighting got to shine. Industry veteran Jim Fleming basks in the glow of the fixture and lamp fashion he found most mesmerizing.

Danish firm Frandsen Group introduced a Verner Panton (1926-1998) original design called Moon. The Moon pendant consists of 10 ring-shaped blades positioned in such a way that they can move. Its name refers not only to its shape but also the quality of light it gives. www.verpan.dk

From the Netherlands, Jacco Maris presents the 1647 Collection, inspired by the luxurious chandeliers of the early 17th Century. The arms are formed of braided copper, silver-plated and black-plated copper with a UV coating. Along with the chandeliers, the collection consists of a ceiling lamp and wall sconces. From Milan design house Kundalini, this organic floating form of a light is by designer Brodie Neill. Molded from polyurethane with a matte white varnished finish and an aluminum reflector within. www.kundalini.it

Porcelain powerhouse Lladro asked designers to reinterpret its pieces into fixtures, other décor and even jewelry as part of its Re-Cyclos project. Bodo Sperlein created the Niagara chandelier for his Re-Cyclos Magical Collection. www.lladro.com/recyclos

Serien Lighting's Twin pendant lamp functions a bit like an accordion: Two slender, arc-like rods form each arm of the lamp, which cross in the upper section to form a “joint.” The hardware is chromed aluminum. www.serien.com

Sole is a collection of hanging, ceiling, wall and floor lamps in hand-blown glass by Simone Cenedese. The blown elements — which are not linear and have supple, rounded tips — are reminiscent of sun rays, giving the series its name. The form of the I Lucci Argentati suspension fixtures from Terzani resembles a school of fish darting through the water. The modular design can be combined many ways and also has a wall version. Finished in either nickel or white. www.terzani.com

Florence-based Tredici Design started in 1964, reproducing antique chandeliers and mirrors in carved wood and wrought iron. Today, the company creates its own forms like the dramatic Dino Sauro floor lamp. www.tredicidesign.it

Like an illuminated umbrella, Spain's Vibia redefines outdoor lighting with its Wind Series. Available in white, green or orange fiberglass, the design is lamped with a 40W T5 fluorescent tube. www.vibia.es
