Circa Lighting celebrated the opening of its new location at 444 North Wells St., blocks from Chicago’s Merchandise Mart, with a Grand Opening party on Dec. 6, 2012. More than 300 guests filled the 2,800-sq-ft retail showroom, which is the company's first in Illinois, and enjoyed food from Kenmare Catering and music from Cage And Aquarium Productions.

The Chicago opening brings Circa Lighting’s showroom count to five. “The location was a key factor in our decision to open the showroom in Chicago,” says Gale Singer, Principal and founder of Circa Lighting. Singer selected the North Wells building because of its classic architecture and history, which dates back to 1910. In addition, 444 North Wells St. is just one block from the Merchandise Mart and close the Loop. Singer updated the storefront with Urban Innovations, the Chicago-based real estate investment company that specializes in the acquisition, development and management of office and residential buildings.

Along with Circa Lighting’s collection of decorative lighting, the showroom will feature a number of unique details, like innovative merchandising displays and meeting spaces tailored specifically to enhance a designer's creativity.

“We’ve worked diligently to create a place where the search for lighting is easy,” Singer says. “The showroom's new location is spacious, open and inviting, and will still maintain the boutique experience our customers enjoy”.

There are many beautiful architectural features such as high ceilings to display hanging fixtures and wood floors. “We want the environment to be a place where designers and our residential customers can feel comfortable spending their time planning and gathering inspiration,” Singer explains.

Circa Lighting’s Atlanta showroom, which was redesigned and relocated earlier this year, is the inspiration for the Chicago showroom in terms of size and scale. The Charleston and Savannah retail showrooms were also redesigned earlier this fall. The next renovation will be the Houston location.

Circa Lighting offers a diverse collection of handcrafted interior and exterior lighting. Each showroom features signature pieces by designers such as Sandy Chapman, Thomas O’Brien, Alexa Hampton, Barbra Barry, Suzanne Kasler, Eric Cohler, Clodagh, J. Randal Powers and an extensive and exclusive studio line.
