Chelsea House and designer Matthew Frederick have joined forces to create a new collection, which will debut at fall High Point Market. The new collection, called M. Frederick for Chelsea House, will include lighting, art, decorative accessories and occasional furniture.
Bill Cain, President of Chelsea House, says Frederick was a natural choice to partner with because, in addition to being a customer and acquaintance, he also has a clean, traditional style that is a good fit for the company.
“The designs that he brings to the table are bringing a freshness and a new sense of style to Chelsea House,” Cain says. “I think that today’s market is looking for more fresh ideas, but there’s also still a desire to hold onto foundational ideas, and Matt has a super sense of how to do both.”
As far as lighting, the collection will feature a variety of chandeliers, lanterns and wall sconces. Cain describes some of the lighting as French in feel, with antique pewter or silver finishes, as well as some cleaner, more universal looks. The collection will also feature a group of ceramic lamps with silk shades.
