The American Lighting Assn. (ALA) announced its Pillar of the Industry recipients for 2012, which will be presented at the Sept. 9-11 Conference in Scottsdale, AZ. Richard Alan of Richard Alan & Associates, Ron Milam of Lighting Emporium and Joey Sadofsky of Alico Industries Inc. are this year's Pillars.
Richard Alan, CLMR, owner of Richard Alan & Associates in Katy, TX, is this year’s recipient of the Pillar of the Industry Award as a manufacturer’s representative. Alan was the ALA membership campaign leader in both 2011 and 2012 and brought in 24 new members this year alone, earning him first place in the membership-recruiting competition.
Ron Milam, owner of Lighting Emporium Inc. in Springdale, AR, is this year’s recipient of the Pillar of the Industry Award as a showroom. Milam has been instrumental in developing government relations with key members of U.S. Congress, including Sen. Mark Pryor (D-Ark.), and is a member of the ALA Government Affairs Committee.
Joey I. Sadofsky, President of Alico Industries in Markham, ON, Canada, is this year’s recipient of the Pillar of the Industry Award in the manufacturer category for his exceptional leadership in the association. He has been chair of the ALA Manufacturer’s Steering Committee since 2010, regularly participates in the ALA Manufacturers’ Sales Surveys and is a member of the ALA Canadian Government Affairs Task Force, the ALA Long-Range Conference Planning Committee, the ALA Education Foundation Nominating Committee and is a charter member of the ALA BiNational Advertising and PR Program.
