The American Lighting Assn. (ALA) elected its 2014 officers and Board of Governors during the recent 2013 Annual Conference, Sept. 22-24 near Austin, TX.
The Board of Governors consists of 12 members, four from each industry segment. Each member serves a three-year term with a two-term max.
Four new members were elected: Ray Angelo, President, Westinghouse Lighting Corp.; Rick Seidman, President and CEO, Quoizel; Elise Severson, Partner, Lytestyles; and Peter de Steiger, Ray Lighting Centers, Sterling Heights, MI.
These newly elected Board members join Tony Davidson, President and CEO, Kichler; Andy Burns, President, Lighting Division at Triple C Companies; Robert Dillon, CEO, Hubbardton Forge; Michael Estrin of Estrin Sales Agency; Kris Quackenbush, Principal, The Carlson Group; Gary Taylor, Living Lighting Inc., Brampton, ON; and Kevin Herdt, Austin Bluffs Lighting, Colorado Springs, CO.
The 2014 officers were also elected. They are:
Chair: Clark Linstone, CFO, Lamps Plus
Chair Elect: Ray Angelo, President, Westinghouse Lighting Corp.
Secretary: Rick Seidman, President and CEO, Quoizel
Treasurer: Larry King, co-owner, Capital Lighting, Columbus, OH
Incoming Chair Clark Linstone addressed the ALA membership at the business luncheon after his election and spoke optimistically about the future of the organization.
“ALA has never been stronger,” Linstone said. “In the coming year we’ll be working on the leadership transition, and that challenge represents opportunity."
