  • Guangzhou Fair to Celebrate 15th Anniversary

    November 30, 2009

The Guangzhou Intl. Lighting Exhibition., Asia’s largest lighting event, will celebrate its 15th anniversary during its June 2010 show at the China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou, China.

Over the past decade and a half, the show has established itself as a significant sourcing destination for thousands of architects, building planners, lighting retailers and wholesalers from around the world.

Last year’s numbers paint a promising picture: Despite the global economic slowdown, the 2009 show attracted almost 53,000 visitors from 111 countries. More than 1,500 exhibitors from 26 countries and regions gathered in 11 halls totaling more than 1 million square feet of exhibition space.

Building on the success of product-based halls, this concept will be expanded in June 2010 to include halls for technical lighting; LED technology; decorative lighting; accessories and electronic components.

The exhibition has been granted Trade Fair Certification by the U.S. Department of Commerce to organization an official United States exhibitor pavilion at the 2010 show.

Jason Cao, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt Co. Ltd., which organizes the show, says the certification is an important victory for the show. “The pavilion provides an excellent opportunity for exhibitors to showcase U.S. products and services and to explore world markets,” he says.
